American Innovations' Integrity Management
Division Awarded Risk Intelligence Platform & Services Contract
by Magellan Midstream Partners
LITTLETON, CO – March 15, 2008: American
Innovations’ Integrity Management Division (AI-IMD), a leading
provider of software and engineering consulting services for
the pipeline industry, announced that Magellan Midstream Partners
(Magellan) has purchased AI-IMD’s Risk Intelligence platform – including
IMP™ Version 6 and PD Mapper™ Version 2 –– as
an important application to support their Integrity Management
Program. Magellan will use AI-IMD's Risk Intelligence platform
to perform risk analysis for over 8,500 miles of pipelines carrying
refined petroleum products across the central United States.
In addition to the software purchase, Magellan
has engaged AI-IMD's Engineering Services Group to provide pipeline
integrity management expertise while Magellan implements the
software and restructures their business processes around the
new application.
One of the main reasons Magellan chose IMP is
its ability to process pipeline performance and design data from
disparate systems of record. In addition, the configurable evaluation
engine of IMP enables Magellan to retain their in-house developed
risk model – a model that Magellan spent years developing
and is most comfortable using. These two powerful features of
IMP allow Magellan to consolidate a manually intensive pipeline
risk model into an automated, efficient and effective tool that
facilitates intelligent risk management.
Other key features that weighed on Magellan's
decision to purchase the Risk Intelligence platform included:
client-server enterprise topology, pipeline data management features,
data reference transforming tool, dynamic segmentation engine,
analysis results visualization tools, and multiple business workflow-based
configurations (i.e. risk assessment, anomaly management, direct
assessment).
AI-IMD's President, Jennie Hoff, stated "We
are very pleased that yet another top 10 liquid pipeline company
such as Magellan recognizes the benefits that our Risk Intelligence
platform brings to the table. We welcome the partnership and
look forward to addressing Magellan’s needs now and into the
future."
Magellan’s Doug Chabino, Supervisor Pipeline
Integrity, replied "We are looking forward to the implementation
of the American Innovation Software which will enable us to more
efficiently analyze and integrate all of our IMP data. Our experience
with American Innovations has been positive, and we are excited
about continuing to work with them to enhance Magellan's Integrity
Management Program."
