The American Innovations team played to support the NACE Foundation, whose mission is to "educate and excite students and the public about corrosion science and engineering." The foundation funds scholarships, teaching initiatives and travel grants for both older and younger students, and seeks to create partnerships with industry and educational organizations which will encourage the advancement of global corrosion awareness.
Team captain Lee Blankenstein reported pleasant weather and a gorgeous Pacific backdrop helped the team perform well. "We're happy to lend our support to the NACE Foundation as we believe strongly in the positive work they are doing by getting students involved in the engineering sciences, as well as raising public awareness about the importance of cathodic protection."
