American Innovations Introduces Voice Notification Feature for Bullhorn® Wireless Remote Monitoring

AUSTIN, TX – August 11, 2003: American Innovations’ Bullhorn family of remote wireless monitoring products now offers a voice notification feature which alerts users if an alarm condition has occurred. The voice notification feature is simple to implement. Via the web site, the customer identifies who to call and what to say when an alarm occurs. The system offers a great deal of flexibility including the ability to define a calling tree and an ability to provide a fail safe e-mail if the voice notification is not acknowledged.

"The voice notification feature is a great addition to the Bullhorn system. Customers are now able to specify a calling tree of phone numbers when an alarm condition is detected," explains Bullhorn Program Manager Mike Alexander. "The voice notification system will then dial each number in turn, 'read' a customized message to the recipient of the call, and ask for the user to acknowledge the notification. This way, the customer can be sure that someone has received the necessary information. The customer can also send a traditional e-mail notification as a fail-safe in case none of the calls is acknowledged. With this new feature, customers can have their equipment call when a critical alarm occurs any time day or night."

Bullhorn is a low-cost, wireless remote monitoring solution that lets you monitor distant equipment for alarm conditions and data collection. The Bullhorn system uses the MicroBurst™ wireless network from Aeris.net to transfer information from your equipment to a central database. In seconds, secure encoded data packets are transferred from the Bullhorn unit over the cellular network to the Aeris.net operating center and on to AI’s secure web site where packets are decoded. There the data is posted for customers to view or to download and can be automatically communicated via electronic means to the customer’s business or control system.

Bullhorn units can be set to report by exception when under "alarm" conditions and/or at pre-configured "health check" intervals. Automatic alarm notifications can be sent via fax, page, e-mail, and now, voice. Alarms can be configured in a variety of ways, and advanced alarming capabilities, which eliminate false alarms, are standard in the product. The customer receives data through American Innovations' secure web site without having to invest in data communication networks or manage any of the technical aspects of the system.
