American Innovations Receives
Enterprise Business Solution Award
from Trimble
AUSTIN, TX – May 5, 2005: Trimble, a leading
innovator of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, recently awarded
American Innovations its prestigious Enterprise Business Solution Award
for their CI survey solutions for a major US natural gas transmission
company. This award went to the Trimble Mapping & GIS Dealer/Distributor
or Business Partner that created or found a mobile enterprise opportunity
and successfully cultivated it from concept to completion. The award
was presented to Director of Sales Steve Hamblin at the 2005 Trimble
Mapping & GIS Worldwide Business Meeting for Dealers, Distributors
and Business Partners in San Francisco.
One of the nation’s largest gas transmission
companies came to American Innovations with a wish list. They wanted
to increase the amount of buried pipeline they could inspect and verify
adequate cathodic protection each year by 20% while reducing the labor/resources
required. At the same time, the company wanted to analyze data in the
field for quick decision making and capture sub meter GPS data concurrently
in order to eliminate the need to set stationing flags and return. Finally,
American Innovations had to meet their rigid requirements for software
and work within the bounds of their internal GIS management, which had
strict requirements before alignment data could be used.
American Innovations adjusted their standard solution
in order to meet the needs of the company. They worked with the Trimble
Business Partner program, which gave them the expertise to enhance their
GPS knowledge base and provide the needed tools to modify the software
to meet the gas company’s requirements. Currently, more than 500
miles of the 1000 miles of pipeline to be surveyed have been completed
using the new equipment.
